My (almost 3yo) son is totally into Veggietales. Mostly the silly songs, but he loves anything having to do with the show. (I even crocheted him a Larry.)

We don't watch a lot of TV, mostly Sesame Street and PBS* stuff in general, but Veggietales has a Biblical background, and I have to say it's one of the few kid's shows that I can sit through (I watch everything my kids do- it's a family rule) that I really like. I was wondering what anyone's thoughts were on it.

For those unfamiliar- http://www.bigidea.com/

If anyone has any thoughts on other kid's shows they like (And I have a thread question about kid's books, too) please share.

If you can get "The Hairbrush Song" out of my head, I'll be eternally grateful as well!

*In America, PBS is the Public Broadcasting System- they're a user and gov't sponsored channel that tends to run educational shows for children and adults, as well as shows requested by the users. Oddly enough, they als run a lot of British shows like Red Dwarf or Chef... we're terribly out of date. Smile

OK, I'll bite: I like 'Arthur.' I watch it even though I don't have any children. Smile

(RE: PBS I know all of the episodes of 'Are You Being Served?' by heart. My (British) husband was over the moon when our local station started re-runs of 'Monarch of the Glen,' 'East Enders,' and 'Last of the Summer Wine.' *sigh* As we only have 18 cable channels (we downsized), I have to watch them. Although I'm grateful for the BBC news, if I could only get them to play 'Father Ted' I'd be happy!)

Just out curiosoty, when PBS shows British shows are they always BBC shows? If that is so I am afraid you will not get to see Father Ted on that channel as it is not a BBC show. As an Englishmen the only TV I watch other than documentries are US TV shows.

I remember when one of my nieces was in high school she was TOTALLY into Veggietales, and I get a kick out of them too when I see them. I guess they are not JUST for kids.
I was going to ask more about "The Hairbrush Song," but decided maybe I better not.

That's a good question; I do believe that BBCAmerica showed Father Ted, but I could be wrong... Don't worry, though- I have the complete set of DVDs Smile
