I had to go off in a huff for awhile. I mentioned logic and someone said that God was beyond logic. I had to feel the autism of that statement to wrap my head around it.
Intelligent design is an interesting way of understanding the word God. We have a current common view that God wears a pocket protector, must have either thick glasses and he must have a lot of computers to keep an eye on everything. We shifted from a Greek God of Zeus to a Geek God, apparently Jesus was Aspergers. Disembodiment or mind matter duality is a very old problem that in antiquity was called gnosticism. I would say modern religion is Gnostically disembodied immaterially, as much as science is disembodied maternally. Both sharing a common dissociation. Clearly the Nicene creed is simply Gnosticism or disembodiment once again forming up into religion. Clearly reading and writing is extremely dangerous in regards to this topic.
Was George fox's attack at the point of the Nicene creed and all creeds not an attack on Gnosticism or disembodiment of his day? How is evangelical Quakerism or modern science not all about disembodiment or mindmatter duality? Is God beyond logic? what is logic?
I tend to trust the quakers more than other's in religion to be at least a bit thoughtful, generally they tend to be a bit beyond literal angels and demon's, kind of..... So I keep coming back herek to get a better measurement of how religion thinks.. |
