Hello...
Been a while since I posted here. I hope all is well. Say, I am not having much luck finding a conservative Quaker meeting in the northwest (USA). I do see that there may be a pastoral one pretty close and then a liberal one very near. However, I am not really interested in either of those for differing reasons.

Does anyone have any incite into options for northwestern Christians drawn to Quakerism in the traditional manner? Thanks in advance!

hey mithrandir

established conservative meetings tend to be located in the vicinity of iowa, ohio, and north carolina.

there are not a lot of options available in your area for friends who consider christianity to be an essential element uniting the meeting community. my own yearly meeting (OYM) has scattered members around the world, but they are quite isolated, and don't often get a chance to visit with their home meetings.

many meetings have arisen simply because people like you have decided that it is time to form one, although that requires a lot of effort and commitment. are there any fellow travelers in your area with whom you could meet semi-regularly?

While not 'conservative' -- many pastoral meetings / churches host a regular Christian unprogrammed worship group. (Often, this meets before education hour -- maybe 8:00 AM... though, sometimes it meets afternoon/evening.) I believe that you will find this true in North-West Yearly Meeting. (though, I've not looked for any)

Out of personal experience -- some of these worship groups are actually silent -- some have a lot of vocal ministry. What you find is a matter of local custom...
