Greetings, f/Friends! My intro. Time necessitates I be brief as I have to get ready for work soon (this is a good thing, trust me).

I found the forum through, oddly enough, the New Fellowship Foundation Ning, and I am working my way through the New Fellowship Foundation Papers (only up to issue 24 at the moment...there are about a hundred of them...orz...) I have participated on the "Friendly Internet" under a variety of monikers since about 2008, though I am not involved in any other Quaker lists or groups at the moment (and my NFF membership is pending).

Short description of my life, faith, etc., I am a second-generation non-denominational Judeo-Christian follower of Jesus. I'm currently attending what remains of the church I was born and raised in.

I say "remains" because they got taken over by Evangelical fundies in the '90s and a lot of the members dropped everything, including belief and service to God, when that happened. My family dropped everything too, and I ended up turning away from God. I got called back (in no uncertain terms) in 2011, and have been trying to find my way since. (Any other Church of God members here? I saw a UCG website address posted in one of the other Introductions. I'm not with United, nor with any of the other splinter groups, personally.) Since the Church no longer dictates as strongly what people should and shouldn't believe (on either side of the fundies vs. non-fundies divide), it is very much a personal journey now. I do believe I have been called to be where I am right now.

I find a lot of resonance with what the early Friends wrote, and what I know to be Biblically sound. There are no MfWs close to me, and though I've tried to start attending online meetings again the timing just has not worked out. The two "closest" meetings to me are, respectively, across a large span of water, and the other one is definitely Unitarian, "liberal" I guess you could say (and 600km away).

Oh, yes, I'm also half-way through Canadian Yearly Meeting's Faith & Practice, and have covered that half with many many Post-its and notes....
