Hello everybody, I know it's been a while.
I was wondering what you thought of an experience of mine that just occurred.
So, I was supposed to get something home from school in the mail, something regarding some low grades, it's all fine and dandy now but at the time it was send out, there was some issues. Issues my parents didn't know about.
It's currently tax season, my parents are accountants, so naturally everything is a little hectic around the house, everyone is stressed out. So getting something form the school would probably lead to some fighting and tension here.
So, like I normally do when there is a problem, I prayed. I prayed to God that I would be the first one to the mailbox, so that they wouldn't see the progress report and there would be no problem. Normally, the mail comes home around 3, that's usually when my Mom comes home.
I get a phone call, saying my sister tripped and did something to her tooth, and that she has to go to the dentist and my mom would be later than usual.
I can't shake this feeling of guilt and bewilderment, why would God cause harm to somebody else, just so I wouldn't get in trouble with my parents?
We see in the Old Testament, God causing suffering to save people he favors, but those people were usually enemies of the Jews, and was it not his Son that said to love not just thy neighbour, but also thy enemy?
Is this a coincidence, or was God involved? |

You think God wants you to lie (by omission) to your parents, so he hurt your sister?
Honestly man, that's pretty twisted. |

That's what scared me the most. |

No, I meant what was twisted was thinking that chain of events in any way makes sense.
So, yeah, I'm pretty sure it was coincidence. I hope your sister feels better soon. And that you come clean with your parents. |

Thanks. I would come clean, but they're already so stressed out about everything, the last thing I wanna do is add this to the list. |
