Eastern Ohio

• Friends Center of Ohio Yearly Meeting, Barnesville, Ohio. A retreat and conference center for the exploration of Christian unprogrammed Quakerism and its meaning today. There are scheduled weekend events as well as opportunity for personal retreats.
• Ohio Yearly Meeting (Conservative). A yearly meeting of Christian Friends who worship in the traditional waiting worship manner. Most of their monthly meetings are in Eastern Ohio.

The Christian Friends Conference holds one-day quarterly regional gatherings on a Saturday, 9-4. Next gathering is on December 6, 2008 in Santa Cruz, CA. School of the Spirit

School of the Spirit is a Quaker ministry of prayer and learning based in the Philadelphia area. It offers a two-year residential program On Being a Spiritual Nurturer, as well as Silent Retreats.

The Christian Friends Conference helps gather Friends for waiting worship in the name of Jesus Christ. They sponsor regional gatherings, which are listed above, and seek to inform Friends of other opportunities. They also publish a quarterly newsletter. Renovaré

This nondenominational Christian renewal movement was founded by Friend Richard Foster, author of Celebration of Discipline and Prayer: Finding the Heart's True Home. Its work includes one-day and weekend conferences throughout North America. It also now has branches in the Birtish Isles and Korea.

* The term Christian is used in many different ways. I use the term to mean someone who answers Jesus' question, "Who do you say that I am?" the same way that Peter did (Matthew 16:15-16).
